EMAIL FROM JEFF LEHMAN - MAYOR OF BARRIE - NOV. 30, 2010

Hello all.  Today is my last day as Ward 2 Councillor in Barrie, tomorrow I will become Mayor.  It has been a tremendous privilege to work with so many people in the BDNA who are so committed to the Downtown community.  Having had a hand in setting up this organization, I remain hugely supportive of the work you are doing to protect and enhance our quality of life in and around Downtown Barrie.  Rest assured that while I am changing chairs at the Council table, the election campaign and my new position only strengthens my interest in downtown revitalization and our shared goals.  I’m looking forward to continuing to work together, although I know you will be ably represented by Councillor Strachan, who has already begun to attend meetings and assist with the BDNA’s work.>>

My door is always open at City Hall, and thank you so much for your support of Downtown. >>

I really don't care how many bars are downtown as long as they comply with the law and pay for any additional policing their patrons may create the need for. The cost of this extra policing should not be paid by the taxpayers!
